Marvels marketing for Ant-Man up to this point has been puzzling.

It just hasnt felt quite right.

This first teaser doesnt do much to distinguish itself, either.

Hopefully, theres some weirdness to come.

Nevertheless, we noticed quite a few interesting things about theAnt-Mantrailer, and figured wed share them with you.

Some of this may be considered spoiler-y, so read on at your own peril.

So, right away, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) isnt your typical superhero.

You might have heard of Michael Douglas, though.

I wouldnt be surprised if the above photo is from a flashback.

I really hope to see more of this aesthetic in the movie.

You know, the kind you see in every big budget movie these days.

But then theres that weird underground cut, followed by this, seemingly super-secret workshop.

Not exactly subtle, but its telling.

Thats Cassie Lang, Scotts daughter.

I get the feeling the movie is going to stick pretty close to this.

Seriously, the whole legacy of Ant-Man characters is a book in itself.

Speaking of stuff from the comics…

The Pym Technologies logo sure does look like something that Ant-Man co-creator Jack Kirby would have designed.

Heres a better look at the logo:

See those lines and circles?

That was like Kirbys universal symbol for unfathomable technology.

Cross will use the Pym-tech to become Yellowjacket, who is a dick.

you’re free to get a look at the Yellowjacket villain designhere.

Thats Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly).

Hope might also be Hope Pym.

Maybe shes a SHIELD agent?

Also…

…she kicks the crap out of the films hero.

Clearly, shes got superhero chops.

Two genius parents, and possible SHIELD training.

Just give her the wings, Marvel!

Its like a cross between the Silver Age design and something out ofSuper Sentai.

Ant-Mans helmet has always been, erm…clunky.

Its just a little more practical.

This is a fairly iconic moment, at least as far as Ant-Man has iconic moments.

Those vehicles look old, too.

Could this take place during one of the flashback sequences?

Possibly something that a younger Hank Pym had to deal with?

Ant-Manopens on July 17th.
