No, what I was left with was total bafflement as to what the hell happened to Harrison Ford.
Remember when he was a star, when he was interesting?
Remember when he was actually cool?
Its been so long that Id forgotten myself.
But what of the film itself?
Of course,Blade Runners classic status is assured, and barely worth quibbling with now.
Like it or not, its seminal, massively influential.
So whilst Im tempted to, I wont.
But do we really need another version?
Many of the changes here are minor, and largely invisible.
Slightly anal control-freakery perhaps, but were not talking Greedo shooting first.
By and large, this is simply a buffed-up version of the same film, a lovingly restored classic.
When Ridley Scott says this is the definitive Final Cut, Im inclined to believe him.
Treasure the memories this release conjures up of him, before theyre lost (like tears in rain).
