Without question, those costumes have a cheaper quality, befitting the low-budget childrens entertainment of the shows.
But theres also something endearing and almost humane about this design choice.
For some, the New 52 elements of the costume portend a problem with the movie on the whole.
The dark shading of the image suggests that hes tired and resigned, not bounding into action.
Thats a far cry from theGrant Morrisoncomics that Gunn had been name-dropping as inspirations for his movie.
But that wasnt the end goal for this Superman.
Thats the spirit we see in the image that Gunn revealed.
A Superman who doesnt just represent truth and justice, but a Superman whos going to work for it.
And thats a Superman worth looking up to.
