So tell us about this years Christmas special…
I think its a great episode.
Its very clever, because its both incredibly festive and jolly and its quite terrifying.
Its one of the scariest ones weve done, but its also one of the happiest.
Does the Doctors relationship with Clara change a bit in the special?

I think theres something quite profound that happens in this one.
But I cant go into that… Will the special leave Santa intact in the same way?
Very much so, yes.
What was it like working with Nick Frost?
Im not a person who corpses very much, but Nick makes me laugh.
And obviously he knows that, so hell deliberately try and provoke it.
Theres lots of outtakes of me hiding behind monsters and things, giggling!
This isDoctor Whostenth Christmas special since the show returned in 2005.
As an old-school fan, does it seems strange to you thatDoctor Whois now part of our Christmas tradition?
Its a little bit terrifying, because its moved into theMorecambe And Wiseslot, as it were.
But its that very British mix of something a little bit scary and a little bit festive.
So Im sure Steven [Moffat] has the same problem.
Since you took on the role, has it just been allDoctor Whofor you?
There isnt any time to do anything else!
Its really a full year-round job, but its so fantastic, its wonderful, I love it.
Not so much with the golden skin-tight lycra?
So theyd be good.
I love the little overlap betweenDoctor Whoand Hammer Horror that you occasionally get!
So its a while since weve had any of that; we need a cult.
So are you still able to go back and enjoy watching the show as a fan?
The show carries with it a massive devoted fanbase; hows it been encountering that as an actor?
Because its a good thing in the world.
Peter Capaldi, thank you very much!
