A beautiful, rich addition to the post-apocalyptic story.

Perhaps thats appropriate for its placement.

The landscape is beautiful, decorated with paintings and ribbons.

I could almost feel the weight of the snow clotted in Aloys clothes.

Scorchers are perhaps the most difficult to fight because of their speed and extreme range of their fire attacks.

New weapons and upgrades also come with the package.

The additional skill trees provide nice quality-of-life options, including foraging while riding a mount.

(You still cant save while riding, though.)

Sylens Lance can now be upgraded, after a short quest.

Some loading times were long, lasting several minutes, but otherwise the game performed smoothly.

The story also feels polished until it shines.

As in the base game, though, the DLCs greatest weakness is its endings.

But Aloys actual role in the story feels both inflated and inessential.

But this isnt the great city of Ban-Ur.

With the Banuk, she feels a bit more like an interloper.

Its a lot of fun, but treads more familiar ground than the main games finale did.

I trust that it will not happen again.
