Lets break down the finer points of theHouse of the Dragonseason 2 trailer now.
Its a good question and its not one that the Seven Kingdoms ever figures out the answer to.
To hammer that point home, we get a brief shot of three dragon eggs simmering in a fire.
Sunfyre
Speaking of dragons, this trailer has plenty of them.
Martins source material,Fire & Blood, features around 20 dragons.
This golden lizard is described in Martins books as one of the most beautiful creatures ever seen.
For some reason Sunfyre chooses to bond with ugly-ass King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney).
Cregan Stark
AGame of Thronesstory without House Stark seems unthinkable.
Jace is meeting with Cregan in The North to convince him to bring his banners to Rhaenyras cause.
Knowing what we know about Northerners, that could end up being a hard sell.
Aegon II, The Next Mad King?
Still, crowns and thrones have a way of changing people.
And if this this trailer is to be believed, power has changed Aegon for the worse.
Fuck dignity, I want revenge!
King Aegon II cries as he waves around the legendary Valyrian steel dagger during a Small Council meeting.
This petulance, combined with the Targaryen predilection for madness, does not bode well for the realm.
Ser Otto is right.
Great Houses will come to the side of King Aegon II and Team Green.
But many of them will feel compelled to join Queen Rhaenyra and Team Black.
Thats how civil wars work, you see.
Around the 47-second mark, we see banners displaying the unmistakable sigil and colors of House Lannister.
Seen in the trailer is a brief glimpse of some Velaryon ships.
Alyn will be introduced as a modest sailor in the Velaryon fleet.
Is This Alys Rivers?
But where is she in the trailer?
After some digging, fans appear to have settled on two potential Alys appearances.
The other is at the 1:50 minute mark and features Aemond in bed with an unseen woman.
Some historical records of even consider her to be a witch.
As her Rivers surname suggests, shes a bastard of the Riverlands.
But season 2 does seem a little early in the story forthat.
Regardless of whats going on, its not good news for Team Green.
Blood and Cheese
And finally we come, as we always do, to Blood and Cheese.
