Im going to start with the obvious question; were you familiar with the source material?
Shes just such a charismatic, fun personality.
Sami:I loved the script.
Lucy:Mean Girls, Im obsessed withMean Girlsas every teenage girl is.
Pretty much everyone is.
Was working with him everything you expected?
Lucy:No, hes got a great sense of humor too.
Hes really quirky and interesting.
The way he can make comedy play is just so brilliant.
Hes got that down pat.
What exactly drew you to the character specifically?
Rose is a part of her healing.
Sami:I think that Mia is a manipulative girl who sort of confiscates her motives.
There has to be, even if its just for one second, an ounce of a redeeming quality.
With Mia, I couldnt really understand Mia as just a vampire.
That really made me begin to love Mia and understand her and relate to her.
Was your internalization of how your character felt something that you kept to yourself during filming?
So even those things were wannabe components of my character my shoes, my outfit.
To do that, that makes her relatable.
Was it freeing being able to play the baddie?
Did you bring anything different to your process?
I was becoming her.
Each letter stands for something different, and I filled those out extensively.
Lucy:To me, it actually made perfect sense when I read the script.
Lucy, you mentioned that you were drawn to the film because you were backpacking with a friend.
This movie is technically a school movie.
Were there any allusions you could make back to your own schooling?
I think everyone will be able to relate to that.
Did you have your own personal feelings that came up at any time?
I think you really see that in this film.
I got the squealing down pat.
Ive got a good scream now.
Sami:Yeah, I was so excited.
So, its different for me to be able to do action in this mystical world.
The schools that we got to shoot in were insane.
I mean, Ive never seen schools like this before.
Were there more actual practical locations rather than sets?
Sami:Yeah, we only shot in studios for a few weeks.
We were shooting at real schools in and around London.
I took a few exams while I was out there.
So different from the US.
Lucy, technically this is the first big jump from TV to film for you.
Lucy:Yeah, this is my first movie.
Were there any kind of different feelings that you had on this jot down of set compared to TV?
I wanted to do as good a job as I could and I really let myself feel that pressure.
This is a very large cast with veterans and up and comers.
Were there a lot of points for you to learn from that as well?
That was really inspiring for me to meet someone so successful but doesnt buy into anything false.
Hes really just a really good guy.
Sami, youve very quickly almost hit every single base that everyone wants to hit.
Youve done straight dramas, the dramedies, action, TV, the movies, etc.
Youve even got an epic under your belt withNoahcoming out.
What havent you done that you really want to do?
Sami:I would like to do a romantic comedy, but not a romantic comedy that is cheesy.
I want to do an old romantic comedy likeRoman HolidayorMy Fair Lady.
Or a romance film likeSplendor in the Grass.
Im obsessed with those old romance films.
I also would love to venture into the silent film world.
Im a big fan ofThe KidandThe Bicycle Thief.
Do you see yourself branching out into more behind the scenes role as your career grows?
Writing something or producing it?
Sami:My brother and I are actually currently working on something.
I cant discuss any of it now, but were working on something.
This is the kind of film that may become a series.
Were you prepared to jump into the whole thing if that was the case?
Lucy:Yeah, I really hope that I can take Lissa the whole way.
What do you have coming out next?
It was so fun, I loved working with her.
Is that completed now or does it still have more work?
Lucy:Its finished.
Were in the ADR process now, so it should come out this year too.
Sami, whats the order of things you have coming up?
Sami:I thinkThe Congress, Noah, and thenHateship Loveship, and more episodes ofBlue Bloods.
