Thats what was appealing to me.

I think shes really interesting and compelling and so damaged.

And also shes dancing on the line of sanity and insanity.

I mean for me, as an actress thats so interesting to play.

A lot of American actors have trouble with British and Scottish and U.K. accents.

Do you have any trouble doing an American accent?

I feel like its different going to American because were saturated with American TV and film in the U.K.

I mean I would even play with Barbies in an American accent from like when I was tiny.

Its actually probably quite a novelty to hear one in a TV show or something.

So I think its not as huge a leap as it is the other way around.

Physical was actually pretty easy.

I just kind of watched her actually and just observed her.

And also it was just written well enough and also years have passed between the character portrayals anyway.

It was an extension of what she started, my character.

I found it interesting you watched her first.

Because for some reason I would think that the kids would maybe watch the adults.

Where were you shooting in Alabama?

Did you like your time there?

I loved it so much.

That was my first experience of America, like an extended period of time.

And I loved it.

I went to the Bass Pro Shop all the time and ate all the cornbread.

We were in the middle of nowhere.

There were no sidewalks.

It takes it out of it for me.

I get it from other people doing things but not myself.

Did any of the film, not necessarily involving you, get to you?

I actually like felt nauseous afterwards.

Like as if I had been on a roller coaster or something.

I realized that my stomach had been really tense for ages.

And I was just like that was like a ride or something.

To see it all just come together and come to this crazy climax I was like thats insane.

You mentioned in the press conference youre a big horror fan.

Number one,The Ring.

Number two,Scream.

Number three,The Exorcist.

Number four,The Shining.

Number five,Scream II.

You knew em right off the bat.

I really like those films.

So the hair is growing back.

Its coming back in slowly but surely, looking more like a human.

It was just such a spur of the moment thing as well.

And Ive been talking about it every since the interview.

Was it liberating to go all the way and shave your head in terms of finding that character?

It did half the work for me.

It basically put me in the character.

And yeah, it made me feel scary for the first time in my life.

How did you feel when you saw yourself like the first time in the mirror bald?

Totally cause its like being on the other side of things now.

And then I was like, Oh no, its my turn now.

How long did it take to get into that costume?

What was your overall experience like onGuardians of the Galaxy?

How do you think its going to turn out based on what you saw and did?

Its just so humorous and the musics amazing and its not taking itself too seriously.

Who did you do most of your scenes with?

Zoe Saldana (Gamora) and Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser).

Are you signed for more?

There are options but theres absolutely no guarantee that they would take me up on them.

How do you feel about Peter Capaldi taking over as the Doctor?

That was a no-brainer.

But get in two episodes and theyll be in love with him.

Have you watched the show since you left?

Ive watched some of it but not all of it.

I need to catch up because I want to keep going with it.

Its very nice that you came back for Matts last scene.

Was that planned way in advance or was it something very late in the game?

No, that came late in the day.

It was a no-brainer.

I bet there werent a lot of dry eyes in the house that day.

Jenna was crying, I was crying.

SoOculusis out now, what are you doing next?

I literally finished, just the other day, a pilot for ABC and Warner Brothers calledSelfie.
