The Reapers are here!

The Reapers are here!

Or, is this a series thats doomed to exit stage left with an ill-placed step?

Now, the Reapers have turned up to devour all life in the galaxy, and theyre hungry.

Make no mistake, this is going to be war.

This is all helped along by some great voice acting and the usual BioWare presentation.

The combat controls, in my opinion, feel much looser thanME2s tight, buttery system.

This wasnt problem inME2.

The melee is also a little broken at times.

Travelling around the galaxy is also changed.

This can also attract Reaper attention though, so needs to be used carefully.

Talking heads

Characterisation and world building has always been one ofMass Effects strengths, and its no different here.

This attachment is compounded by the excellent character import system.

If youve played the previous games, you’ve got the option to import your character intoME3.

Let a key character die inME1?

Then theyll be dead here, with ramifications carrying on.

Pursued a love interest inME1and changed your mind inME2?

Youll see the effects here.

Although your various past decisions are left intact, visually youll get a more hit and miss result.

Its not hard to put things right, however, so the complaints have been a little strong.

Its a truly worthy end to an already epic series.
