We can prove it, too.
How many follow ups are there toNight of the Living Dead?
Go on, guess.
If you answered three, then congratulations, youre one of the 12 people who rememberLand of the Dead.
If you answered five, then youre one of thetwopeople who actually watched of the last two Romero films.
But youre still wrong.
I count 28.28!Im not joking.
So why so many sub-series from just one, low-budget film?
Lets take a look.
Seriously, if you havent watched it, do so.
Its genuinely one of the most terrifying films ever made.
That lies in a title change.
This on top of the remakes, which of course required no permission.
1978sDawn of the Deadfollows the survivors of the apocalypse as they take refuge in an abandoned mall.
After a 20 year hiatus, the series returned withLand of the Dead.
The final film in the series isDay of the Dead 2: Contagium.

John Russo had more up his sleeve than justReturn.

Remakes
Our last category is remakes.
There are alotof remakes.
The first remake came in 1990, whenNight of the Living Deadwas remade by Tom Savini himself.
It stars Tony Todd, who is worth the price of admission alone.
From this point on, the floodgates opened.
The first shameless cash in actually wasDay of the Dead 2.
Ive talked about that, so lets move on.
Night of the Living Dead 3Darrived in 2006; that came about because the original had no copyright.
