Marshall P. Pope (Jin Ha) killed Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch).
Marshall, then known as Rex Bailey, was Sazzs stuntman, her protege if you will.
Marshall sees its brilliance but undermines Sazz by lying and saying the script needs a rewrite.
Instead, he brings it to Bev Melon (Molly Shanon) and the story is greenlit for production.
Marshall receives his just deserts mere moments after his admittance to the crime.
Charles gets vicarious vengeance through Jan before she is once again escorted by police to her next trial.
But theres still quite a bit more that happens beyond justice for Sazz.

Theres a problem in the way of a normal marriage, though.
Loretta insists her husband stay with the podcasting pals and continue their camaraderie for another season.
