Never Let Me Gois a genre oddity.
Its an emotional mishmash thats a darn sight more cohesive my cack-handed description would suggest.
Instead it presents the films world as is and allows the audience to connect the dots on their own.

Never Let Me Gos emotional register is one of suppression.
But to me thats never translated into an emotionless film, quite the opposite.
The supporting cast do wonderful work in shaping the environment our central trio are living in.
This is my favourite performance Keira Knightly has ever given.
Shes superbly spiky and spiteful, but never so much as to be undeserving of sympathy.
Its such a hard line to walk but she does it beautifully.
Thats what makesNever Let Me Goquintessential science fiction storytelling.
