Ahsoka races to its finale with a penultimate episode that feels like a lot of setup.
ThisStar Wars: Ahsokareview contains spoilers.
So why does the episode fall a little flat?
Its not that theres one big issue that tanks the entire episode.
Rather, its an accumulation of little creative decisions that dont hit the mark.
Take C-3PO saving Hera and Tevas asses in the courtroom, for example.
Chops fiery reaction to Xionos mere droids comment was pretty funny, though.
No matter which direction she takes?
You just said you were choosing the path, no?
The dialogue isnt exactly razor-sharp here, either.
Its worth noting that unlike most Big Bads, Thrawn never underestimates his adversaries.
And yet…it doesnt really feel like hesbackback.
The Sabine/Ezra segments also allow us to spend more time with the adorable Noti tribe.
These little alien hermit crabs from the space Shire are a great bit of worldbuilding.
But overall, the action in this episode is just a bit underwhelming.
Surely, there should be more conflict there?
Surprisingly, the score is one of the weakest parts of the episode, especially during the action sequences.
Or even the creepy organ theme that accompanied Thrawns debut last week.
