In half of his scenes inThe Accountant 2,Jon Bernthals character Braxton eats something sweet.

Sometimes hes finishing a quart of ice cream.

Sometimes hes sucking on a lolly.

But hes always eating.

Instead Wolff enters the film in a funny sequence at a speed dating event.

Funny as it is, an uncomfortable mean streak runs beneath the bit too.

Bernthals also a great action performer, which comes in handy withThe Accountant 2s many visceral action scenes.

So great are these comic and action beats that viewers hardly notice the many problems in Bill Dubuques script.

However, the film also uses too many other ugly American genre tropes.

In fairness, Dubuques script tries to complicate those tropes.

She is the one who contracts Wolff to look for Anais.

Yet no part of the film seems particularly interested in that.

Which is the case for most things inThe Accountant 2.

The movie is best enjoyed, then, in the exact opposite manner of Christian Wolff.

Dont analyze what you see, dont look for patterns.
