The Human Centipede 2 finally gets a UK cinema release this week.

So: has it been worth the fuss?

Here’s Luke’s review…

Established horror franchises going meta is nothing new.

The ill-fatedBlair Witchsequel,Book Of Shadows, tried and, inarguably, failed the self-referential tack.

Presumably, there is no handover to another guard at the end of Martins shift.

And, anyway, its all irrelevant, really.

Instead, it was a psychological body-horror based around Dieter Lasers gaping, delicious performance as the unhinged surgeon.

The sequel cannot claim this arms-length defence.

The press notes wildly exclaim its The film the BBFC didnt want you to see!

This gives you some idea of the level were at, and its all just a bit sad.

Its eighty eight minutes of some of the blandest, most desperate cinema youll see this year.

The horror genre deserves, and regularly delivers, better.
