Single White Female + Fatal Attraction - all the good bits of those films = The Roommate.

Youve literally seen this movie a dozen times if youve ever watched a movie before.

Sara Matthews (Minka Kelly) is your classic small town girl off to the big city.

Theres just one little problem, and thats her roommate, Rebecca (Leighton Meester).

As it turns out, Rebecca is just a little bit, ahem, different.

No, thatd be entirely too entertaining or controversial for this movie.

By covering your eyes you miss absolutely nothing.

There are no surprises in this movie whatsoever.

This is basically TV Tropes: The Movie.

Theres a reason screenwriter Sonny Mallhi has absolutely no screen writing credits to his name.

Its a predictable, poorly written, follow-the-numbers flick, with absolutely no redeeming value.

Its not even entertaining in a bad way.

Its just kind of there.

Its the unflavored oatmeal of movies.

The only noteworthy change betweenThe Roommateand any other standard roommate from hell suspense picture?

Only one person dies inThe Roommate.

Its as spineless and as gutless as a PG-13 movie could possibly be.

Youve heard of the hard-R flick?

Well, this is the limp PG-13 flick.

Im usually kind to actors put in this situation, and I usually venture to suspend my disbelief.

But poor Cam Gigandet looks like hes making this movie because hes got alimony payments to multiple ex-wives.

The less said about poor Billy Zane and his 15 minutes of screen time, the better.

At least hes appeared in a movie that makesTales From The Crypt: Demon Knightlook likeCapeFear.

So, hes got that going for him.

The Roommaterepresents the very worst of the abysmal genre that is the PG-13 horror film.

Somehow, it manages to be even less effective than your average teen horror, which is saying something.

Its not saying something good, mind you, but it is a feat in and of itself.
