But in its strongest moments, its extremely effective, and comes loaded with a few genuine scares.

Kevin Bacon takes the lead as a convicted child molestor whos released after serving his sentence.

While playing, the pairs fun is interrupted by a bag flung from a passing train.

A bag chock full of cash.

The question: what to do with it?

Revenge dramas are relatively unusual in British movie theater, butDead Mans Shoesis one of the very best.

On the DVDs commentary track, theres a brilliant anecdote where Parker and Stone talk aboutTeam Americas opening scene.

It was this scene that Stone and Parker screened for Paramounts executives before the movies release.

Are the incidents on Scotlands lake real, or is Penn merely faking it all for the camera?

We can obviously guess the outcome, but the whos conning who?

aspect is part of what makesIncident At Loch Nessso wryly amusing.

As an absurdly plummy British lady puts it near the start of the movie, What fun!

ThinkFriday Night Lights,and its usually the superb television series that springs to mind.

Theres nothing wrong with that at all either: you cant go wrong whichever way you turn.

As with the very best sports movies,Friday Night Lightsworks on two levels.

On their travels, they cross paths with Sandra Ohs Stephanie and Virginia Madsens Maya.

And each of these characters contributes much to what makes Sideways so special.

But the key moments all belong to Giamatti.

His character is funny yet lonely, passionate about wine yet depressed.

Said explanation opens his soul, and is delivered quite brilliantly by Giamatti.

Its the standout moment in a movie that has no shortage of wonderful parts to celebrate.

Its also, in our humble opinion, one of the very best films of the decade.
