The best romantic comedy for grown-ups the 1990s had to offer?
Theres a strong argument forTin Cup, and its unsurprising that itsBull Durhamwriter-director Ron Shelton who delivers it.
Shelton expertly mixes them too, aided by one of Costners very best leading man performances.
Great mulligan line, too.
Permission to use the in lesser hands cliche?
The movie underneath it all is excellent though.
Whatever the reason,James and the Giant Peachis full of character, charm and lovely visual touches.
Like the titular colossal fruit, its a timeless fantasy that looks good enough to eat.
That Thing You Do!
Theres an early role of Charlize Theron here too.
Its not the most radical music movie youll see, but its still an impressive one.
Its from a director who really cares about the material too.
And youre lying if you say you might watch this and not have That Thing You Do!
stuck in your head for days afterward.
