You know exactly what theyre going for with their Luthor, just by Eisenbergs name.
Its Mark Zuckerberg vs Superman, the supergod vs the awkward genius.
But thats not the only big action movie hes got coming up.
But here are ten other, lesser-known Eisenberg performances that are well worth tracking down.
Eisenberg plays the older son, and hes screwed up, whiney, and kind of annoying.
Only of course hes only like that because of his parents, and their own personal issues.
Theres a reason you probably havent heard ofThe Education Of Charlie Banks.
But given the benefit of the doubt, does Durst reveal a hidden talent for the movies?
No, he doesnt really.
Its a pretty rote, obvious coming of age movie.
They grow, they learn etc etc.
He might be on autopilot, but Eisenberg still carries the film, and makes it enjoyable.
In truth, the film doesnt quite work.
Its far from perfect, butHoly Rollersis a fun, odd crime movie.
But Eisenberg carries the whole thing, making it never less than watchable.
Its a good little crime yarn.
Theres one thing a bit icky about30 Minutes Or Lessthat puts me off it a bit.
Which kind of taints the comedy.
Putting that aside though, its an underrated little comedy.
Its also a very good role for Eisenberg.
And at only 84 minutes, it makes a brisk change to the bloated Judd Apatow school of comedy.
Theyre great on-screen together, and itll be really cool to see them unite for a full movie.
Shes not going to direct a superhero movie or anything.
But her controlled, minimalist films are fastastically riveting if youre willing to give them the time and attention.
For some reason, despite great reviews, Richard Ayoades follow-up toSubmarinekind of flew under the radar.
But dont let that put you off, its great.
No one else in the office notices the similarity though, which just adds to the films odd tone.
Each one takes on one side of the archetypical Jesse Eisneberg persona.
Eisenberg one is a loveable but pathetic nerd, Eisenberg two is the smarmy and hateable beta-male asshole.
He plays both too perfection, but its not just actor-showboating.
As the original Eisenberg slowly goes insane, doubting his very existence, its a tender, heartbreaking performance.
And Segel is fantastic.
But Eisenberg has to anchor the film.
And thats difficult, almost harder than doing the big show stuff.
But Eisenberg pulls it off.
