It earns its bonus Tim Curry points, which always helps, but even thoughThe Shadownever really catches fire.
its easy to get caught upnot unlike Warren BeattysDick Tracyin the sheer look and feel of thing.
Terminal Velocityis then both a hoot and a mess.
And whileTerminal Velocitymay be crap, its quite brilliant, enthralling crap.
This was Lehmanns first movie postHudson Hawk,and hes clearly a lot more comfortable here.
Not massively so, and thats responsible forAirheads less interesting moments.
But Lehmann lets his ensemble loose and mines a lot of really, really good laughs.
The movie was known in Japan by the far better title ofHardrock Hijacktoo.
The movies less clothed moments were punctuated by a couple thinking this was a game of copycat.
Much guffawing took place.
But that does Andrew Flemings interesting, if slightly flawed movie, few favors.
Its a surprise that Flynn Boyle didnt go on to too many higher profile projects.
But thats not all.
Oh, and listen out for some stunning music from the great Ennio Morricone.
It would be fair to say that they arent a husband and wife who get along.

Sheryl Lee stars as Stuarts lover, Astrid, while Ian Hart is brilliant as John Lennon.
But then the rest of the cast stick firmly to the no stars, just talent ethos.

A good thriller this, with an interesting idea at the heart of it.
Madeleine Stowe plays Emma, a woman who was been blind for the best part of two decades.
However, she undergoes an operation that restores, to a point, her sight.
Immortal Beloved
The structure of this underrated movie about the life of Beethoven has an air ofCitizen Kaneto it.
What makesImmortal Belovedmore than just an interesting drama is Gary Oldman.
Only modestly successful,Immortal Belovedgarnered some good reviews, but several oddly hostile ones too.

The main problem with Ron Sheltons little-seen baseball biopicCobbis that the central character isnt a very likable one.
Heavenly Creatures
Peter Jacksons best movie?
Quite possibly.Heavenly Creatureswas certainly the one that most brilliantly bridges his earlier, horror-centric work to bigger studio fare.
And there are lots of reasons to check the movie out if you havent already.
The visuals for a start stick in the mind a long, long time after the movie is done.
But crikey, its excellent.

The late Paul Scofield plays his father, and ultimately trumps every other actor in the movie.
