Watching a teaser for Netflixs upcomingLemony Snicketadaptation recently turned me into a giddy wreck.

There was only one problem: the trailer was fake.

(News broke recently thatTrue Bloods Mark Hudis and Barry Sonnenfield are Netflixs actual hirees for the show.)

The films shortcomings really arent its own fault.

Television, however, offers a very different means of adaptation.

But the color and variety of the books begs certain logistical questions of the television series.

So just how will Netflix approach the adaptation?

And not a single one of those elaborate sets would carry over to another episode.

Of course, its likely that the series may take a different approach.

Compromising that in any way seems unwise.

The benefit of the series of that there is just so much good material it offers the producers.

As far as were aware it might even end up being animated, making much of the above moot.
