What went on at that mall?
Why was Jubilee barely in it?

Clocking in at 2 hours and 27 minutes,X-Men: Apocalypseisnt exactly a short movie.
Heres our roundup of everything that didnt make it into the movie… Chatting toThe Empire Podcast, Bryan Singer revealed that this scene was originally meant to be longer.
This extended version was shot, and featured a reprise of Eriks Polish lullaby singsong.
He sings the lullaby [in the forest], and we have the lullaby longer in the bedroom.
In the context of the cut, it didnt quite work, he added.
Its heart-breaking, because he [Michael Fassbender] went above and beyond.
Out of context, as a scene, its just amazing and beautiful.
In the flow of the picture I had to shorten it a little.
Mr Singer also teased that this longer version of the scene may appear on theX-Men: ApocalypseDVD.
[…] So thats what she sees in Apocalypse yet another maybe righteous leader.
Shes looking for someone who will show her the way, and looking for a family.
A whole montage of material was cut here, Simon Kinberg toldCollider.
This included a group of breakdancers in the mall, and Nightcrawler starts breakdancing with the breakdancers.
Kinberg said this was profoundly entertaining, but it didnt unfortunately fit within the flow of the storytelling.
But no, it was just an 80s mall!
I grew up in 80s malls, Singer added.
Heres photographic proof of that….
Sadly it just got removed from the first act, Singer continued.
I made a big, sweeping cut.
But Ill put it back in sequence and itll be fun.
One thing that definitely did feature in the record store scene was a joke at Sophie Turners expense.
But it was Sophie who pointed that out to me, and of course I had to shoot that.
Sadly it didnt end up in the film, but itll end up somewhere.
Already, the Jean Grey/Culture Club-era Boy George comparison has been usedas a piece of viral marketing…
This scene will probably end up on the DVD or Blu-ray home release, as well, we hope.
Unfortunately I couldnt use it in the film.
And I dont want the audience to feel that.
Its unclear exactly when this scene would have slotted in.
Perhaps the home release will provide some answers.
There were a lot of iterations of how Wolverine would enter and exit the movie, Kinberg explained.
